Casa Mariposa near playa Hermosa Beach

This rustic & cozy long term rental cottage is located at the community of Opera Salvaje near Playa Hermosa, just a 5-minute drive from the surf.

Opera Salvaje is a quiet and beautiful community one mile from Hermosa beach.  It is mostly flat and borders lush rainforest and rivers.  There is an entrance guard shack with 24-hour security and a roaming night guard.

The community is close to the towns of Hermosa and Jaco and their beaches.  Many expatriates have made this little corner of Costa Rica their home.
Casa Mariposa is located near the entrance, on lot number 6.  Nearby semi-Olympic pool is available for a fee, including swimming lessons.

The house has an irregular shape that resembles a butterfly, hence its name.  It is surrounded by landscaped gardens and trees and has an ample porch in the back from where to soak in the sounds and colors of the nature around, either on a hammock or a rocking chair, or around the dining table outside.

The house opens to a great room with high wood beam ceilings and an open layout that includes the living area, a dining table, and a kitchen with breakfast counter.  This area has ceiling fans is and confortable even in the middle of the day with cross ventilation when the front and back doors are open.

A hallway connects the great room to the bedrooms, one on each side.  In the middle there is a full bathroom with shower that opens to the hall and the bedroom with the Full-size mattress.

The two bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, open closets, and chests of drawers. The first bedroom has a Full-size bed, and the second bedroom has two Twin size mattresses which can be put together with King sheets to form a King bed.

The house has a driveway with enough parking space for multiple cars.  One calm-natured dog is allowed with an additional pet security deposit.

Electricity is not included in the rate. It is charged separately according to consumption as marked by the electric meter and the electric bill.

Cable TV, phone, and Wi-Fi Internet are available upon request to Liberty or Kolbi, and paid separately (about a $60 monthly fee, depending on phone usage and a 100 MB internet download capacity).

A 25-meter third-party pay-per-day lap pool is only a 5-minute walk away on lot #17.  It is open available year-round for swimming learning and training only. The current daily fee per person is US$5. There is also a weekly rate of $20 per person or a monthly rate of $50 per person. The hours are 5:30 am to 7:30 pm every day. These rates may change at any moment.
