A hired driver with a van is the by far the easiest way to travel around Costa Rica. No lines at the rental car agency and no deposits on your credit card. All you have to do is be ready with your luggage outside the airport’s arrival gate or hotel lobby. No need to follow directions or tackle traffic, just let an experienced English-speaking driver take care of the trip.

We can arrange for a driver with a private large, air-conditioned and insured van to pick you up at the airport or hotel or any place you happen to be in Costa Rica.

Should you also wish to have a rental car to explore the area during your stay you may rent a car to be dropped off at your condo or beachhome. Check our recommended car rental vendors here. Also know that taxi cabs are locally readily available and cheap, including Uber in the Herradura, Jaco and Playa Hermosa area. Golf cart and bike rentals are available in Jaco and at Los Suenos Resort too.

SJO is the San Jose airport, located 1.5-hour drive from Jaco and Los Sueños. LIR airport is the Liberia airport, located 3 hours from Jaco and Los Sueños.

To arrange your private transfer, please provide your flight information, including the flight number and landing or departure times, using the form below. Ensure this information is sent at least 18 hours in advance.

Transfers are available every day, at any time of the day. The prices listed below remain the same regardless of the time. We have partnered with the same reputable transportation company for the past 15 years.

You would pay the driver directly in US cash on arrival to the property. If arriving at the SJO airport, the representative for the transportation company will wait for you down the sidewalk outside the arrivals gate, with a sign with your name. The representative will then introduce you to the driver. The van will be a private, large, air conditioned and insured vehicle. You can stop once along the way, either for groceries or even for a quick lunch. The driver will know the location of each of our rental units, so you don’t have to worry about directions.

Traveling with babies that require a baby car seat? Costa Rica’s traffic laws require them too.
